Leading the charge among Solana ($SOL) meme coins is Sealana ($SEAL), which recently surpassed the $3 million mark in its presale.
Sealana is based on a South Park character, known as the “World of Warcraft guy” and recognized for being messy and obese, with a love for junk food.
Originally starting life as a Solana-only coin, Sealana has expanded its reach by becoming multichain. There is now a BNB Chain version of the coin, which can also be purchased on the Ethereum network, thereby widening its appeal across crypto communities.
Regardless of which method of purchase – SOL, ETH or BNB – the token will be airdropped, dispensing with the need for manual claiming.
Sealana’s presale token price is $0.022. The price is fixed for the duration of the presale.
Solana meme coins are up despite the chain’s 7-day slump
While Solana’s price has dipped by 6.4% to $168.46 over the past week, Solana meme coins are gaining notable traction.
Solama (SOLAMA) has surged 55.5% over the past 24 hours, with two other mammal-inspired meme coins, Cat in a Dogs World (MEW), and Shark Cat (SC) soaring 17.6% and 13.7% respectively.
Notably, in the same timeframe, the market cap of Solana meme coins has risen by 8.4%.
The frenzy around meme coins is indicative of broader interest in decentralized technology and the cryptocurrency industry.
There’s strong anticipation that meme coin mania will persist throughout the summer, especially given the shift in sentiment around April’s Bitcoin halving.
The Solana meme coin community is known for embracing controversial and edgy projects.
Sealana is capitalizing on this trend by tapping into political issues to amplify its American patriotism theme, as seen in the X post below:
#Sealana ain’t slowing down anytime soon! 🔥With his companions he’s out here finishing what @realDonaldTrump started! 🦭💪
Send $SOL to clean out the swamp 🏞️ and make #Memecoins great again. 🚀💰

There are rumors that the Sealana team is also behind sloth-inspired meme coin Slerf (SLERF).
Slerf’s tumultuous launch, marred by the accidental burning of its presale supply, left a lasting mark on its reputation, but that didn’t hold back the price from pumping.
Traders swiftly capitalized on this, propelling its value to meteoric heights, with a market capitalization of $750 million back in March 2024.
SLERF’s hype has since faded, prompting traders to be on the lookout for the next big thing on Solana, and Sealana is a prime contender.
Can Sealana replicate Slothana’s success?
Slothana, another Solana-based meme coin, has seen significant success. Despite being symbolized by a sloth – its growth is far from sluggish.
The buzz surrounding Slothana has been immense since its presale. The coin has reached a market cap of $100 million and during its presale raised over $15 million in just a few weeks.
Many expect Sealana to be the next meme coin to take the baton from Slothana. That is certainly the thinking of YouTuber ClayBro who has 129,000 subscribers:
Sealana’s presale adopts Slothana’s ‘send to wallet’ approach. Participants can acquire $SEAL by either buying through the website widget using SOL, BNB, or ETH, or by sending SOL directly to the presale wallet. Sealana contributors can also pay for their tokens using a bank card.
After the presale concludes, participants will receive airdropped tokens directly to their wallet, so there is no hassle involving reconnection of the purchasing wallet and the expense of paying gas fees.
However, there is no soft or hard target stated on the website for the completion of the presale – or total token supply – so those who wish to buy should do so before the shutter comes down.
