Every weekday the CNBC Investing Club with Jim Cramer releases the Homestretch audio feature in time for the last hour of trading on Wall Street. Here’s today’s edition. Oil and the dollar are getting crushed and these are positives. When oil is down and the weaker dollar this is good for a majority of the companies in the S & P 500, especially multinationals that do a lot of business overseas because when dollars get converted back its to higher profits. Oil dipped below $70 Wednesday. The last time WTI broke below $70 per barrel was early July 2023 and that was right before a big rally to the $90’s. The decline in oil has made Club holding Coterra Energy (CTRA), our only energy position, a buy on weakness as shares are down roughly 2% in late day trading Wednesday. Elsewhere, the market is still working off overbought condition as mortgage rates are headed lower. This bodes well for real estate and our stocks that are adjacent to that trade like Stanley Black & Decker (SWK) which is most levered to housing. Caterpillar (CAT) and Dupont (DD) are our other indirect housing plays. Shares of Estee Lauder (EL) are bouncing back with the broadening of the rally but it still remains a volatile stock. Starbucks appears to be stabilizing after 12 straight days of declines. We got the bad news out yesterday that the recovery in China is lower than expected, which came as a surprise after the company’s solid fourth quarter earnings print in early November. Walt Disney (DIS) is also stabilizing and “that’s a buy” Jim said. He thinks the entertainment giant can make a meaningful turnaround after looking into Larry William’s technical analysis on the stock which suggests that the stock’s long-term trend has turned back up. (See here for a full list of the stocks in Jim Cramer’s Charitable Trust.) As a subscriber to the CNBC Investing Club with Jim Cramer, you will receive a trade alert before Jim makes a trade. Jim waits 45 minutes after sending a trade alert before buying or selling a stock in his charitable trust’s portfolio. If Jim has talked about a stock on CNBC TV, he waits 72 hours after issuing the trade alert before executing the trade.
